We build exterior PVC brackets, corbels and rafter tails that perfectly complement your projects.
Architectural Brackets
We understand you spend a lot of time creating the perfect design for your clients. Just like putting together the perfect outfit or art piece—style, balance, and proportion all need to be considered and taken into account to create the perfect look. A building design is no different. Hours are spent choosing the right materials and services to make sure budgets are followed while never deterring from the overall scope of work. Accessorizing with brackets, corbels, rafter tails, etc. help provide that finished look. With the exception of wood, your options are often limited and/or cost-prohibitive.
Here at Durabrac®, we feel the same way about our products and our customers as you do about your designs. When we are presented with a custom bracket design or the final plans of a project specifying our PVC brackets or corbels, it is important to us to provide a high-quality finished product that not only represents your vision, but is worthy of your final design.
To make things easier on your design and product selection process, we have created .dwg files for all of our PVC brackets, rafter tails and corbels. You can register on the main Durabrac® website (durabrac.com) for access to all of those files. Download the file you need and easily drop in to your design, specifying with part number and size. We can also create 3D sketch-up files as well.
Most decorative components other than wood are manufactured in a mold. Molds need to be custom machined which severely limits size options to just a few or even just one. Many manufacturers using PVC often laminate to get the larger size needed. This process uses a lot of material that is reflected in higher product costs.
We do things different at Durabrac. Our brackets, corbels and rafter tails are manufactured using a proprietary technique that uses much less material and labor. And by using heat and pressure to create end profiles that can then be mixed and matched to fit your exact size and look, design possibilities can be endless. Click here for a selection of our most popular profiles. We probably have one to fit your design. If not, send us your design. Custom work is always welcome!
PVC Brackets
Plans are expertly drawn by Architects with a specific look, feel and purpose in mind. It is up to you, the Builder or Contractor, to essentially bring these plans to life. Whether those plans are for a multi-family housing complex, educational building, retail or commercial space, industrial facility, or a private residence, you implement the same high-quality construction standards into each facet of the process—from workmanship to the materials chosen.
We here at Durabrac® feel the same about each and every PVC bracket, corbel and rafter tail we make.
We see those same architectural drawings and know that we need to provide a product that exceeds expectations without breaking the bank. We need to provide a product that fits within the budget you are managing without skimping on design or detail. We build beautiful PVC brackets that perfectly complement the projects they were intended for.
How do we do that? What’s the difference between wood brackets and PVC brackets? Is PVC better? Will it look as good? What about Polyurethane Foam brackets?
We can answer those questions by starting with Polyurethane Foam. Polyurethane Foam brackets definitely have their place and purpose. For intricate scroll and carving details, polyurethane brackets are excellent. For large Craftsman style or Post and Beam style brackets or rafter tails, they are typically costly due to the individual molds that are required to produce them. Wood brackets and PVC brackets are your best choice for exterior architectural components.
Wood and PVC brackets are similar in price (depending on the wood used), however in large quantity or extra large sizes, Durabrac® PVC brackets will excel due to our manufacturing process. We do things different here at Durabrac. Our brackets, corbels and rafter tails are manufactured using a proprietary technique that uses much less material and labor. Using our precision heat forming process, curves are seamless and smooth. No lamination is required, therefore creating a product that appears solid in structure with a painted wood–like appearance and much less material. That savings is reflected in the unit costs for each product.
PVC brackets are virtually maintenance free. They just require a little cleaning from dust and dirt on occasion (if they are accessible) and don’t fade, rot, or crack like wood does over time. They do not require staining or paint to protect the material. Actually, no painting is necessary at all. But, if that is a preference, then your painters only need to use a good latex paint. No primer is needed. The material we use to manufacture our brackets is Versatex. Paint adheres to the surface quite well. Just clean the products well, removing oils and fingerprints from handling, before applying the paint.
In addition, our PVC Brackets and other components are Class A fire rated. Wood is Class B while polyurethane is Class C. Durabrac® products will not fade or yellow. They are water resistant and handle all climates well (from the snowy north to the hot, humid south).
They are scratch and puncture resistant and impervious to burrowing or drilling bees, birds and insects—a common problem with polyurethane and wood products.
No pre-drilling is necessary for installation and any adjustments for installing can easily be made in the field with the typical tools used for wood.
Overall, Durabrac® PVC Brackets, Rafter Tails and Corbels are the smart choice.

Structural metal support beams
Structural Brackets
If you are in need of structural brackets for your architectural design, we have a way to accommodate for that as well. Traditionally, PVC brackets are not recommended to hold heavy weight. They are primarily used for decoration and light support. We understand, however, that sometimes the design calls for an aesthetically pleasing structural bracket. To build one out of wood can be cost prohibitive and metal may not be the ideal choice for your design.
We have developed a way to incorporate PVC Exterior Brackets into a structural design capacity— melding function with style. By creating a hollow core with a removable center cover, our bracket can be easily placed over the top of a structural support, essentially hiding the brace. (see illustration) These structural braces can be made out of appropriate wood beams or metal supports as specified by the structural engineer.
Our design allows for the structural support that is needed on the technical side while incorporating the creative feel designed by the architect. These covers can be made in various sizes from small to extra large brackets as long as the bracket design has a cross beam that can house the structural support beam.
